In Crusade

I’m writing from Ibadan, Nigeria, where the first night of our crusade here has just come to a close. It’s been almost two years since we have been in Nigeria. What a joy to be back! The hunger and faith of the Nigerians inspire me.

When we drove on the field tonight, we were taken aback. The field is absolutely massive, and so was the crowd. The field is nearly the same dimensions as our record-breaking millennium crusade in Lagos! In my spirit, I already see it filled to capacity and Jesus being glorified over this city as never before.

As I took the platform to preach, rain began to bucket down. One would expect the crowd, standing under the open sky, to disperse in all directions in search of shelter. Instead, no one left or even stirred. In fact, it seemed to me that the rain only strengthened their confidence that the Lord would meet them tonight.

I continued to preach until I was soaked to my socks. When the altar call came, the response was overwhelming. Many tens of thousands received Christ, and a wonderful, tangible presence of the Lord rested on the field.

As I prayed for the sick, we saw amazing miracles:

  • An older woman who was totally blind can now see.
  • A young man who was hunched over from birth stood up straight for the first time tonight! He has no more pain, and his posture is perfect!
  • A woman who was partially deaf in the right ear was healed.
  • A woman who suffered from severe arthritis for 10 years was totally healed and pain-free. We danced together on the platform!

And many more…

In all, more than 145,000 people (our count) attended the meeting tonight. That is really outstanding, especially considering it was the opening service, and it was in the midst of a torrential downpour! Just have a look at the attached picture. It’s epic, and it is just the beginning!

Please pray for us. The enemy is opposing us every turn, but we are pushing back in Jesus’ name, and the gates of Hell will not prevail!

Yours in the Gospel,

Together with Peter Vandenberg and the whole CfaN team

Daniel Kolenda
