I am excited to share with you today about the amazing week we’ve had here at CfaN! As you may have seen, our recent Bootcamp Graduates arrived in Arusha, Tanzania this week for their Initiation Trip. They, along with our CfaN Crusade Support Team, have hit the ground running!
So far, they have done 140 outreaches in various schools, marketplaces and villages, and we’ve witnessed over 58,000 decisions for Christ!
We are truly in the greatest season of harvest, and I want to share with you just a couple of testimonies from this week. You can see our daily updates on our website: cfan.org
Halfway between Cape Town and Cairo
Firstly, there is one particular story that stirred my heart at the very beginning of the week. Our Bootcamp graduate, Kole Purdy, was walking in the streets of Tanzania with some colleagues before their Orientation Day. At one point they started talking to some locals. In conversation, these Tanzanians pointed out a clock tower to Kole that is truly significant. You see, this clock tower marks the exact halfway point between Cape Town and Cairo. I believe it is no coincidence that our first Bootcamp Initiation trip is happening in this place and at this time! We are seeing Evangelist Bonnke’s vision for a blood-washed Africa, from Cape Town to Cairo, be fulfilled as we continue preaching the Gospel with a new generation of Holy Spirit evangelists!
You can watch Kole describe this event here:
A Muslim Helps Preach the Gospel
Another on-fire Bootcamp graduate, Jon Farino, recounts an incredible salvation of a Muslim man. You can read this story below:
“Today was a day of salvation and miracles. Three days ago, we did a market outreach in a place called Tengeru. A young Muslim man named Hamzal came up to me asking me questions about Jesus. I shared the gospel and showed very plainly how Jesus is the Son of God. However, I needed a translator, and as he spoke such good English, I asked him to come along with me to help.
He agreed, and that day he helped me preach the Gospel many times to hundreds of people. I asked him to help the next day as well. And once again, he was my translator, a Muslim helping me, a preacher of the Gospel, to bring Jesus to the people.
Well, on the third day, we went out as normal, when a man totally blind in his right eye approached us. He told us he had been blind since he was a boy because he was beaten very badly. I told him, “Today Jesus will open your eye and you will see.” I prayed, and while covering his good eye, he saw outlining of shapes. I prayed again, and he said, “Now things more defined up close.” I prayed again, and he said he saw the whole light of the sun. It was a glorious miracle, praise Jesus!
As we walked away Hamzal said to me, “Now that I see this miracle, I am ready to receive Jesus.” I prayed with him as he was visibly moved to tears. He said, “I have preached to convert the people to Allah. Now I want to preach and help the people to Jesus for the rest of my life. Today is the best day of my life.” I later had him pray alone for a man who couldn’t bend for 10 years and was in pain daily. Hazmal placed his hands on the man and said, “In Jesus’ name” three times. I told the man to stand and test it out. He was smiling, completely healed!
Our team of eight co-evangelists saw hundreds of salvations in the marketplace in Arusha this week, every one of them so precious and special. However, I can’t help but feel that Hazmal will continue the work after we leave. He said, “I want to do this the rest of my life.” I read to him the story of Acts 9 where Saul became Paul. He said, “That’s me, I will share with all the Muslims about Jesus.”
Thank you for continuing your prayers for us here in Tanzania. Jesus is saving, healing, and delivering the people just like 2,000 years ago, and today he is turning a Saul into a Paul once again!
A Government Endorsed Traffic Jam
Then we have this story from Bootcamp graduate Macoby Donaldson, who tells of the favor shown to the team, along with an incredible miracle healing, in Jesus’ Name!
“Friday afternoon was very special, and I want to share some of the stories with you. Keep in mind there are many more amazing stories like this, and they happen because of you and the rest of our support team. We started the day in a livestock market for the Maasai tribesmen. We parked the truck in a prime spot for many hundreds of people to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, a government official told us we had to move because our presence there would cause a traffic jam… It surely did! My coach, Evangelist Paul Maurer, took this man aside and, in his spirit, he heard the Lord say, “Ask him if he knows the great Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke”. As you know, Evangelist Bonnke is widely adored all throughout Africa and when the government official found out we were serving the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke he said, “Okay! I will give you one hour!”
We immediately turned up the music and the dancers began to dance, drawing an even bigger crowd! We preached the Gospel and many people responded and said yes to Jesus! While we were preaching, huge bulls with big, long horns walked by us, no more than six feet away. Many animal sounds tried to distract us, but thanks to your help we had a big gospel truck and a loud sound system. Nothing would stop the Lord and His hand from saving many dozens of souls in the Maasai market that day. You have just as much inheritance from this great victory as we do! We would have never been able to reach so many people without the technical elements you made possible.
Later that same day, on the other side of the market where people were selling food and clothes, we prayed for a woman who has not been able to walk properly for two years. She was a kind, older woman who culturally you would refer to as “Mama.”
We prayed for all pain, sickness and disability to leave in the name of Jesus. Immediately afterward she testified that she could walk without a limp and there was no more pain! We even went on a little walk together with no pain! I want you to go look at the photo (below) of her praising Jesus for her healing. Notice the smile on her face. You made this possible! For someone like her, who walks many miles every single day, this is a changed life. I pray that God would bless you, and may it be added unto your account – the blessing from this woman’s changed life.
These are only a few of the many, many stories of salvations, healings and miracles we are seeing! You can see even more exciting video recaps and photos taken during this momentous outreach in Tanzania here.
Please keep praying for our team as they continue to go out and preach the Gospel for the next 2 weeks.
Together in the Harvest,
Evangelist Daniel Kolenda
